MEET OURÂ MUSICIANS
Born and raised in Ontario, Jasmine has completed a variety of Bachelor and Master degrees from McGill University, University of Windsor, University of Western, Mount Royal University/conservatory and University of Calgary. She has a vast repertoire of chamber experience, including performing with the UCalgary String Quartet, UCalgary Klezmer Band, World Music Players and among others. She has also had the opportunity to perform along with Il Divo, Michael Buble, Richard Claydermann and others. Specializing in Music performance for cello and education for Music and French - she has utilized her assortment of pedagogical knowledge and approaches to be a highly sought after teacher for cello and piano. She has also performed in a variety of Orchestras as a member and/or soloist, such as the McGill Orchestra, McGill Chamber Orchestra, The London Youth Symphony, London Symphonic Orchestra, The National Youth Orchestra of Canada, Windsor Symphony, L'Orchestre de la Francophonie, and others. Jasmine is one of the founders of the Anju Trio and is the founder of 'Played with love Co.' Jasmine currently teaches privately, at Long and McQuade, at the Alberta school of Music and is a freelance visual artist and musician.

JASMINE LONG

RENA FAR
Violin (acoustic and electric)
She began her musical studies at age four with Keiko Takahashi. In 2018, Rena won both the Rose Bowl at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival, and Provincial National String category at the 2018 Alberta Provincial Music Festival and placed 3rd at the Alberta National Music Festival. Rena is a past first-place winner of the Alberta Provincial Music Festival, RBC Concerto Competition, and Canadian Music Competition national final. She has been ft. in multiple performances as a soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Rena is an active and dedicated chamber musician who has performed with the UCalgary String Quartet, UCalgary Klezmer Band, and New West Piano Trio, and others. Rena has served as Concertmaster of the UCalgary Orchestra and the Calgary Youth Orchestra. She performs frequently as an extra musician with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Red Deer Symphony Orchestra, and other ensembles across Alberta.
Rena holds an ARCT Performer’s Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor of Health Sciences, with a Minor in Music from the University of Calgary. She is currently pursuing her MD at the University of Calgary while performing as a freelance musician.
NICHOLAS POLACHUK
Piano (acoustic and digital)
Nicholas Polachuk began playing piano at the age of 5; music being an intrinsic part of his life since. Under the supervision of Colleen Athparia and Marilyn Engle, Nicholas has studied pedagogy and piano performance at the University of Calgary. He has taught piano for 20+ years and is a certified, advanced specialist through the Royal Conservatory of Music. Additionally, he performs and accompanies a variety of musicians as a freelancer, all while maintaining his own business and is a project manager for a residential property developer. Nicholas is especially thrilled to play chamber music and is a member of the Anju trio along with Jasmine Long and Rena Far. In his spare time, Nicholas loves to read, is an avid runner and traveler, and enjoys spending time with his cat, Miso.
